Terry RedlinTerry Redlin, House of Wood, Artist, Painter

Terry Redlin, "Americas Most Popular Artist" has given the world a great gift with his ability to capture on canvas the memories so many of us share. Over the course of his career, Redlin's style has continued to evolve from the wildlife scenes of the early years to the rural landscapes and childhood memories he recreates today.

Every image comes to life with Redlin's ability to create a glow from within his paintings. His style, referred to as "Romantic Realism" is not intended to be photographic.

Blended from the artist's memories and his romantic imagination, each original oil painting begins as a sketch, then is masterfully painted with oil on canvas. Every image is an invitation to you to step back in time, reminisce, and bring your memories to life through the art of Terry Redlin.

Throughout his career, Terry Redlin has been focused on conservation and preservation. It has always been important to him that the message about conservation is shared with all generations. Terry Redlin maintains strong relationship with Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, National Wild Turkey Federation, and many other conservation organizations. Today, it is estimated that Terry Redlin's art has generated over $40 million dollars for conservation and preservation.

One of the most significant accomplishments in Terry Redlin's career took over 10 years for the artist to complete. The "America the Beautiful" series is comprised of eight paintings, each illustrating the first eight lines of the well-known patriotic song. The series begins at a period in time when the pioneers were settling the land and each painting progresses through history while capturing experiences and landscapes that are near and dear to all Americans. This series was released over a period of two years. Each image was released as a limited edition of 29,500.

In 2004, another signature series was released - "An American Portrait - A Collection of Heartfelt Firsts". Based on experiences in his own life and those of his brother-in-law, the collection captures seven of life's most significant experiences including the first day of school, a first date, and graduation to name a few. The last two paintings in the collection capture the American pride in "His First Good-Bye" and the devastating pain of loss in "His Last Good-Bye". This story told through paintings is Terry Redlin's tribute to America - to the Veterans and Veterans families who fight to keep us safe.

Here is Terry Redlin's philosophy about his work: "I love to tell stories with my paintings, to remember the experiences of my youth, to imagine events related to me by older folks I had the privilege of knowing. America's rural past, in my eyes, was a wonderful place full of both beauty and opportunity. How fortunate I have been to spend my life creating memories of these distant times for others to enjoy. I only hope that my art is worthy of the subject."
